Goldcorp 2018 tailings and mine waste report
The tailings storage facility at Newmont's Peñasquito gold-silver mine in Mexico is roughly 2.5 miles long and in 2018, when this photo was taken, was nearly 280 feet tall. For size comparison, the Komatsu 930E haul truck circled in red is 24 feet tall and can haul 320 tons of ore or tailings.
