Exyn strengthens strategic partnerships

Continues to revolutionize the autonomous robotics landscape Metal Tech News - September 5, 2023

Further solidifying its leadership in the world of multi-platform robotic autonomy for complex and GPS-denied environments, Exyn Technologies Inc. has secured funding that strengthens the autonomous robotics pioneer's strategic partnerships.

Founded in 2014 as a spin-out of the University of Pennsylvania's General Robotics, Automation, Sensing & Perception (GRASP) Laboratory, Exyn has quickly grown as the leading contender for autonomous exploration and mapping for industries across numerous sectors – but where it has truly shined is in the mines.

Exyn's breakthrough technology enables safer, more affordable, and highly efficient data collection, transforming how businesses operate. With a team of experts in autonomous systems, robotics, and industrial engineering, the company has surged to the forefront of innovation when it comes to integrated solutions to capture critical and time-sensitive data in complex and GPS-denied environments.

Its technology is best proved through its partnering with companies like Rupert Resources to map its Pahtavaara gold mine in Finland or Maestro Digital Mine, which specializes in industrial internet of things devices to make underground mining safer and enable drones to replace the olden day canary, Exyn has also received numerous awards and recognition for its state-of-the-art autonomous technology, even marking history as the first company to achieve level 4 autonomy or portraying the first lidar scans in real-time full color.

Invaluable partners

In support of its plans to launch new products and expand its reach into new markets, Exyn has secured additional funding through Series B financing that also strengthened partnerships with two key investors – C.R. Kennedy & Company and Aero X Ventures.

Established as Exyn's first international distributor back in 2020, C.R. Kennedy sought to make Exyn's autonomous aerial robot systems available to mining and other industrial sectors in Australia.

As Australia's largest distributor of geospatial data, C.R. Kennedy is the ideal partner to expand Exyn's reach into one of the most extensive mining territories in the world.

C.R. Kennedy says Exyn offers the best autonomous drone technology for its clients, along with world-class customer support to back it up.

"After working with some competitor products, our sales specialists made the correct decision to sell the Exyn system. The factors in our decision were reliability, after-sales support, and future developments. No other system in our experience comes close to the reliability of the ExynAero, which satisfies the demanding requirements of Australian underground surveyors," said Robert Kennedy, managing director at C.R. Kennedy. "Exyn's exceptional after-sales support has left our customers highly impressed, addressing their concerns promptly and effectively. Moreover, we see Exyn's dedication to research and development reflected in regular software updates with improved functionality. With their groundbreaking Level 4 Autonomy, Exyn has surpassed their competition, and we eagerly anticipate their future product developments."

In addition to C.R. Kennedy, Exyn is also enjoying the support of Aero X Ventures, a specialized early-stage venture firm that targets next-generation technology that aims to transform the aerospace and defense industries.

"Our partnership with Exyn recognizes the incredible strategic alignment and potential to capitalize on our firm's resources to accelerate their growth. Exyn's world-class team has demonstrated a unique capability to apply highly capable autonomous systems to solve complex real-world problems," said Aero X Ventures CIO Kyle Mounts. "As Exyn scales its products across industries, we look forward to leveraging our social capital and deep expertise in aviation and defense, bringing significant value to Exyn's continued success."

Exyn believes these strategic partnerships are instrumental to advancing the company's position in key markets – with C.R. Kennedy's extensive distribution network and deep understanding of the Australian market, and Aero X' expertise in aerospace and defense technologies, from which Exyn gains access to invaluable knowledge and resources to accelerate its growth in these sectors.

"We are thrilled to have Aero X Ventures and C.R. Kennedy as investors in Exyn," said Exyn Technologies COO Ben Williams. "Their expertise and resources will be invaluable as we continue to drive innovation, expand into new markets, and solidify our position as a market leader. Together, we will unlock new opportunities and revolutionize the autonomous robotics landscape."
